Moms, Dads, Bugs and 6 Billion People!
Submitted By Anonymous
Do you know how much land it would take up to have everyone on earth, all 6 billion people standing together side by side?" Well, I learned in Nashville this week that is the area of...Nashville.
If you do the math you will find this is true. Amazing how a world of people who could stand in the area of Nashville can wreak this much havoc on the planet?
I happened to have a great chat with Christine Todd Whitman. She is the former Governor of New Jersey and Administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency.
I had read that recent and alarming TIME article about Climate Change. I thought it was Global Warming before I met Christine. She is a grandom who has made such incredible achievements in her life yet her heart still aches for she knows too well, the damage mankind is doing to the earth.
I was moved by her decision to leave her job at the White House because her convictions. It is so difficult to stand by your convictions under extreme pressure. She cetainly has that good energy we need on this earth that doesn't cost us the atmosphere!
Today I also taped a mother who actually found a way to help her son emerge from autism over 6 years. He was incredible! She is incredible! You will see that soon and not only learn but be blown away like I was!!
I also keep getting emails from good dads about the "Moms Raise the World Commercials"
You may find this email and response interesting. I agree with him mostly, but I don't think we can get to where he sees the world without the strength of mothers. What do you think??

Subject: sensitive about gender bias
Message: I am a father that won custody and had to battle gender bias. I hear sound bites like yours(mothers raise the world) and it perpetuates this problem in my opinion. I love women and mothers, but some of you are forgetting the attention that men and dads deserve, and your being very selfish about what it is that you(moms) do and ignoring us(dads) while you point out your importance. That's all...please be a little sensitive, after all that is one of your best qualities as a mother...or an advocate of mothers. It does take a mom and a dad to make a child, and it would be ideal to raise the child in a home with a mom and dad, don't you think???

I did write about this on my blog. Check it out "What about Dads."
It would be ideal to have both parents raise a child in one home. The sad fact that 50% of the mothers are single mothers is only one reason for my work.
I am very positive about Dads. I love men like you love women, but I have seen many, many mothers around the world who need help and who need to feel elevated to make the difference and the changes in the world we need.
There are some mothers who are not good to their children out there, I know. But, I am reaching out to the majority. Do you believe it was mothers who caused many of the problems we face in our world? Maybe mothers as a group can help heal it. I have not only 3 daughters but 3 sons and potential dads that need to live in this world when I am gone. Why don't you help me help mothers raise the world. There is plenty of room on my mission for Dads.

Dear Linda,
I appreciate your offer to join you in your mission, but I'm already on the train...
I am currently helping mothers, and fathers help teach their children that reading is fun. I am a children's author and the creator of Bugaroos. My partner is the former President of CTW (Sesame Street) and he was the brains behind Barney. I do my part to contribute to the world's humanitarian efforts. Bugaroos are a culturally eclectic group of young bugs that every now and then have problems, and they work together to maintain balance and harmony. Kind of like the real world...
I believe that men and women are responsible for all the problems and I also believe that men and women are responsible for making the world a better place. The only way we will, is to work together hand in hand. I have a saying that goes like this: "The common denominator to all the problems in the world, is lack of communication."
We share a common mission, to make the world a better place...
Nature has a way of letting the good things rise to the top, and good will always wins over bad...and each one of us is on our own little journey, so good-luck to you in your endeavors, I truly wish you are successful!
Bugaroofully,
Garry DeArmond
