NEW BEGINNINGS AND THE HUNT!
Submitted By Anonymous

Happy Easter Everyone!

Easter symbolizes new beginnings and it always feels good to think this way! No matter what is going on in your life, you can always find a reason why you can make this time the beginning of something new, and hopefully, something meaningful in your life.

It is freezing at 4;30pm right now in the Northeast so not quite the warm Spring day which we are accustomed. It is more like a sunny winter day but the daffodils and tulips around the yard remind us that Spring is here. I do the brunch on Easter Sunday and my mom makes dinner at her house. I get off easy!

Every year since the kids were little we have had an Easter egg hunt at our house. Sometimes with a TON of kids and sometimes more low key with just our family. This year was a low key brunch after Church and some of our kids, nieces and one of our daughter’s boyfriend as you see in the photo, participated in the hunt. Obviously, there is money in the eggs along with the candy so all the kids joins in no matter how old. At this stage of their lives, there is about an hour or so of strategy and arguing about turf before the “games begin” so this tradition just gets funnier. The funniest of all was as much as the teens vowed to find the “prize” egg with the most money, our 8 year old niece was the one to find it. (more photos on my Mom Space on this site)

After lunch, the guys go outside for cigars and the ladies stay in the dining room and chat. My sister said, “This feels like the Titanic where the “Masters of the Universe” go to the smoking room for brandy and cigars and the ladies are left behind. But I insisted these “Masters of the Universe” have to clean the dishes when they come back in from the cold!

As crazy busy as life gets, we always make sure we keep up our traditions. This we all learned from our parents. My mom always bakes bread and makes “pisankis” (Easter Eggs with wax designs) on Good Friday with the grandchildren and she’ll even has my siblings and me hunt for chocolate eggs in her house for dinner and that is really funny!

So before I make my strategy to gather the most Hershey chocolate eggs at moms tonight, I wish you a new beginning and hope that you will be a part of the new beginning of the Moms on the Move Shows and our quest to bring moms together for the greater good!
