Teaching Sons About Being Dads!
Submitted By Anonymous
Today I spoke with two of my sons about why their dad is such a great dad. Probably because of what I do, the first thing that came to mind was, “Boys, Even though Dad was divorced when I met him and he had your brother and sister who were 3 and 5 at the time, he still supported them, paid their school fees, got them computers and things they needed and made sure their mother did not have to bear a financial burden no matter what their relationship or where they lived. My step children are now 25 and 27 and extremely close with their father. In fact, my husband stated at our son’s wedding that our 27 year old is his best friend. So, there are pay offs for being responsible for your children no matter what the situation is with the Xs.
I hear from so many moms who are struggling financially in divorce situation because they are too exhausted to try to make ends meet and do not have the energy to fight for a fair contribution from the father to support their children.
Part of the responsibility of good dads is to teach their sons to be good dads from a young age. And, if there are no dads around then moms have the ability to teach their boys to make sure that if they have a child, under no circumstance should they ever leave their children financially if they leave their mother.
So if you think about it after you read this and you have sons, talk to them about what it takes to be great Dad and one day, God willing, they will be!
