Do You Ask Other Women What They Do? Why not?
Submitted By Anonymous
Now that people know I promote mothers through Moms on the Move, women automatically approach me and tell about themselves, their causes and reasons for them. So, I am constantly charged up with new excitement by great women anytime I venture out of my home.
This was never automatic before this.
Before people knew me, I would ask women upon meeting,”so, what do you do?” right after the name exchange. Many times they would reply, “Oh nothing. I’m just a mom.”
I know they didn’t mean to make it sound like that wasn’t important, but they didn’t think they’re lives and accomplishments were very interesting.
So I would continue to dig until I would inevitably find yet, another most interesting woman with a great story.
We should make it a rule between ourselves that anyone new we meet, we must say, “what do you do?” And, when asked we must tell people something we do that is significant in our lives no matter how boring we think it may be. It is not boring to someone else if you love what you are doing.
We must make it a point to not let one new conversation be wasted because we’re insecure about ourselves. We are all here to find the connections between us.
Just think, whoever you are meeting, you are meeting for a good reason.
