Unusual Gifts to Romance your Man!
Romancing the one we love is something we all do. It can take many forms, depending on what we know about the object of our affections. Such matters as favorite foods, music, lighting and place all come into play when we begin to imagine a romantic scenario for ourselves and the one we adore.
Coming up with romantic gift ideas for a man, however, can pose some problems and often calls for some creative thinking. Old standards such as flowers, candy, and candle light may be nice, but for most men they won't set off any bells. In order to convey those feelings of love and longing to the man of your choice, it will be necessary to think outside the traditional box and tailor your romantic gifts to suit his personality and taste.
There is one thing to remember about giving any type of gift to a man. What will catch his attention is a gift that will have a lasting impact on his life. The gift itself need not be a tangible one, but it must be something that causes him to remember the gift fondly and bring a smile to his lips years after the gift was received.
An old saying is that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. While some may debate the wisdom of such a statement in this modern day world, the truth is we still say love with food a lot of the time. Plan a special evening with the man in your life that includes foods he remembers fondly but never has the chance to eat these days. As an example, there may be candy he loved as a kid that can't be purchased in the stores any more. Look around on the internet and there is a good chance you will find a manufacturer that still makes candies that were popular in decades past. Order some of the old favorites your love interest has mentioned and surprise him with them.
Another unusual gift may be a trip to an event he has always wanted to attend, but thought it would be out of character for him to go. Perhaps he has always wanted to attend a science fiction convention, but felt he would be kidded too much about going on his own. You can provide two gifts at once, in that you are letting him do something he would not give himself permission to do, and you are giving him a free pass with his buddies. By allowing him to use the excuse that it was a gift from you, he can contend with them that he did it for you and what kind of guy would he be if he turned down your gift?
Indulge some secret fantasy of his, within the limits of your own predilections, of course. Get him to tell you something he always wanted to do behind closed doors and then figure out a way to make it happen. To heighten the fantasy, take him to some private hotel that the two of you have never stayed at before. This is also actually a dual gift, in that you are helping him live out a fantasy; you are also sending the message that you do not think there is something wrong with him for having the fantasy in the first place.
Work with his employer to arrange a surprise Friday off so the two of you can take a mini-vacation to the beach or the mountains. They can make sure his calendar is cleared of all appointments, and there will be no need to worry about work commitments. When he shows up for work Friday morning, his boss can escort him into an office or conference room. There you will be waiting with a change of clothes and a big smile. Tell him this is his official day off and there will be no work today. Then, off the two of you go for an unexpected long weekend of fun.
Sometimes the best gifts can be found right at home. Throw a small party and invite people he speaks of often, but has not had the chance to contact lately. Serve dishes you know he likes and allow him time to catch up with each of the guests. The evening will be one he will remember for a long time.
The key to finding a gift that will leave a lasting impression on your man is not money. It doesn't have to be big and flashy, nor does it require you fall prey to all the advertising that proclaims to be the ideal gift for any man. Remember, you are not giving a gift to any man, but to the man you care about. By taking into consideration his tastes, his thoughts, and his feelings, you can identify a gift that will be uniquely appropriate for him. And he will always remember not only the gift, but the person who was creative and caring enough to come up with the idea.
