Easter Dresses

Every year parents rush at the last minute to find the perfect Easter outfit for their little ones, sometimes settling for whatever is left. It''s hard enough to find one great piece, but the hunt can get even more complicated if you''re looking for multiple family members. When you shop early it allows you to have choices and ultimately decide on your favorites. Here are a few basic guidelines to think about to help keep your spring shopping sanity.

There are a number of factors to consider when shopping for Easter wear. The first ''myth'' shoppers can stray away from this year is that an Easter dress can only be worn on Easter Sunday. When looking for a dress for your daughter, think about other circumstances for which it would be appropriate. Birthday parties, family pictures or church, are all opportunities for your child to wear their new threads again. Some dresses can are suitable throughout the spring and summer if styled correctly.

With that being said, dresses can easily be accessorized to change the look accordingly. Depending on the season, they can be paired with a cute cardigan and leggings or worn alone with fun hair accessories and ballerina flats. Pay attention to smaller elements that could shorten the lifetime of the article such as beading, sequins, and flower appliqué details.

Also, keep in mind your daughter''s personality when shopping for her dress. If she''s going to leave the boys in the dust during the Easter egg hunt, she probably won''t feel comfortable in a frilly, lace dress. She will love an outfit that won''t restrict her from any kind of activity, try fabrics that are have some stretch; including a bit of spandex or jersey knits. Shabby Apple''s girl line, Shabby Baby, offers a little secretary dress (matching mom dress available) in bright colors perfect for spring.

On the other hand, if your little one is an aspiring princess, she may want nothing less than to feel like one in her new outfit. Even so, look for something that is machine-washable and easy to get on and off.
It''s critical to find pieces that are machine washable, require little to no ironing, and are easy to wear. It''s likely that an accident or spill will happen sooner or later, so why waste time and energy on dry cleaning when you could easily throw it in the wash? Cotton is definitely a fabric you want to look for when shopping for your kids. Also look for zipper closures or pull-overs for trouble-free accessibility.

Lastly, if you''re planning on taking family portraits, your children wearing coinciding pieces can compliment the overall look of the picture. One way to have your kids match without being overly cliché is to put your son in a tie, suspenders, or bow-tie in the same color featured in the pattern of your daughter''s dress. Non-traditional color schemes that look great together are green and pink or blue and purple. If one person is wearing a pattern (paisley, stripes or floral) make sure it works with what everyone else is wearing.
